Book Launch: Integrating Compassion into the Financial Services Industry

February 22nd, 2024

We are thrilled to share the launch of the “Integrating Compassion into the Financial Services Industry" book, which took place at Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University on February 22, 2024.

Our very own Tsewang Namgyal and Olga Puntus were critical to the launch and development of this revolutionary book, through a three-year process that brought together 36 authors and contributors from our industry and academic world.

The book brings together testimony from leaders at global banks and investment firms with insights from scholars in academia whose studies include the components of compassion such as generosity and forgiveness. It is intended as a practical handbook that can guide its readers to build a better, more compassionate, and peaceful world.

Mindful Leadership Skills with Dr. Jeremy Hunter:

Cultivating Personal Mastery, Navigating Uncertainty, Building Resilience & Developing Adaptability, Leading Through Change & Transition

Sept 14, 21, 28, Oct 5, Oct 12, 2020

In this unusual and unprecedented time, we are faced with a great deal of uncertainty and complexity in both our professional and personal lives. What are the essential skills we need to thrive and to lead as we face the unique challenges of the current environment?

Sept 14th: Cultivating Personal Mastery: Enhancing your inner game

Dr. Jeremy Hunter developed one of the first mindfulness-based approaches to personal mastery for executives after researching prominent, successful professionals who were dedicated to practicing mindfulness. He found that a sustained practice of internal self-management was the source of both professional effectiveness and positive personal transformation.  However, the inner world of the executive remained largely neglected in corporate settings or business schools. Furthermore, Dr. Hunter developed his own practice of self-mastery while living 17 years with an incurable terminal illness.  In this series kick-off, we will discuss why the practice of personal mastery is so foundational, and explore how our internal experiences and processes have a direct impact on our external actions, behavior and performance. We will learn how the brain and the nervous system function and learn tools to effectively enhance self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-transformation.

Sept 21st: Building Resilience: Better leveraging sources of strength for sustainable performance

From an inner perspective, what nourishes your capacity to be effective when facing both personal and professional challenges? We'll explore and practice powerful skills that can help you build a foundation of strength and resilience to more skillfully deal with these unusual and difficult times without burn-out.

Sept 28th: Navigating Uncertainty: Harnessing energy and attention to thrive in complex times

Energy flows where our attention goes and the skill of energy management and how we direct our attention is fundamental to both the quality of our life and the results we generate. In this session, we will look at ways in which we are currently using our energy and attention, and learn strategies and tools to direct these in ways that better serve us.

Oct 5th: Developing Adaptability: Using our unwanted results as a source of growth and innovation

We have been shaped and conditioned and perhaps sharpened by the results-oriented culture of the financial services industry. How can we effectively face our recurring unwanted results as sources of valuable information, and use them as a source of growth and innovation? How can we be dynamic and adaptable both personally and professionally?

Oct 12th: Leading through change and transition

Jeremy is the founding director of the Executive Mind Leadership Institute at the Drucker School of Management of Claremont Graduate University, which is dedicated to helping leaders thrive by developing their capacity for sustainable and effective action. He has been voted Faculty of the Year 8 times by students and when faced with life-saving surgery 13 former students came forward as organ donors.  He is also co-founder and partner at Transform LLC in Tokyo.  Jeremy received a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, under the direction of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, author of Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience.
